Mario game fans got good news indeed, as the mobile version of Mariokart Tour is now officially available on Android and iOS devices.
Mario Kart Tour brings the nostalgic experience of endless racing fun from Mario Kart to mobile devices. Players are tasked to drive with the main characters from Mario series such as Mario, Princess Peach, Wario, and Toad as they drive the karts on many colorful yet challenging courses.
Completing challenges and unlocking cups will generate rubies (in-game currency), which can then be used to unlock even more drivers, karts, and gliders. Meanwhile, City Courses that are inspired by real-world locations will only be available for a certain period of time and take place every two weeks.
The Complaints with Mariokart Tour lies within Server Overload and Monthly Subscription Fee
Nintendo finally released Mario Kart Tour for Android phones and tablets (for version 4.4 or higher) and iOS (for version 10.1 or higher). Although, many users complain over the server overload that prevents them from playing the game.
“The server is experiencing heavy traffic. Your login request will be processed in the order it was received,” such was the message that appears when the game was launched was quoted as saying by Mirror on Thursday (9/26/2019).
Players who want to try playing Mario Kart Tour can sign-up for a free trial for two weeks. During the free test, they can unlock extra-fast 200cc mode, get in-game prizes and access to bonus goals.
After the free trial period is over, players will be charged a £4.99 subscription fee per month. Nintendo hopes Mario Kart Tour will help contribute to their lackluster sales on the mobile games department, including Dr. Mario World that was launched this year.
