Fake news or hoaxes are one of the big problems in today’s digital era. Hence, Facebook and Instagram released new features to prevent the spread of fake news.
Facebook and Instagram Ideas to Prevent Hoax
Some websites and articles are even cleverly designed to look credible. To combat the potential for the hoax to spread on its social networks, Facebook announced that it would start marking posts on its platform and Instagram that could potentially be fake news.
According to Facebook, during the following month, content on Facebook and Instagram that was judged fake by third-party fact-checkers will be clearly labeled. So people can decide for themselves what to read, believe and share.
“The label will be displayed above the wrong photos and videos, including above the Stories content on Instagram. And, will be connected to the assessment of the fact-checker,” Facebook said as quoted by Ubergizmo, Tuesday (10/23/2019).
Just as shown in a screenshot, if you find writing that has been labeled, there is a possibility the content contains false information. So hopefully, the benders and labels will make people stop sharing posts without even glancing at the contents.
