Fingerprint Lock: Now on WhatsApp
The security of WhatsApp conversations is what the user is concerned about. WhatsApp understood that and began to try a new security system, using a fingerprint scanner.
This feature has been rolled out in beta for iOS users, and now it’s the Android users turn to try it on. Chat lock feature with fingerprint is available in WhatsApp update version 2.19.221.
How to Set up Fingerprint Lock on WhatsApp Android
The fingerprint scanner security lock can be found in the settings menu, select the “account” option, and scroll down to find the “fingerprint lock” or “fingerprint scanner lock” option.
If you want to enable fingerprint security, the user must set it up first. The method is almost the same as adjusting the fingerprint scanner settings on the mobile.
Users will be asked to choose other security features before registering their fingerprint, either by choosing the security pattern, PIN, or password feature. After registering a pattern, PIN, or password, then the user will be asked to register a fingerprint that will be used to open WhatsApp. Later there will be a time option to automatically lock WhatsApp.
The time options available are as soon as possible after the WhatsApp application is closed, one minute, or up to 30 minutes.
Users can set whether the contents of the new chat that comes with the notification are shown or not. Thus, the potential of spying from curious onlookers are minimized.
Nevertheless, users who activate the “quick reply” feature can still reply to messages without having to open the WhatsApp platform.

Is Quick Reply Available on WhatsApp Android?
Keep in mind, this feature is still rolling in the beta version. Not all WhatsApp users get this feature until it is officially released later.
But it never hurts if you are diligent in checking WhatsApp updates on the Google Play Store and immediately update to the newest version.
