Microsoft was previously known to be working on dark mode for OneNote. Now, the software maker also seems to be preparing for dark mode for Outlook.
Launching Ubergizmo on Wednesday (07/17/2019), last year Microsoft actually confirmed that it would release dark mode for Outlook on iOS and Android. But, they did not mention when exactly the feature will arrive at the e-mail service.
Well, recently, Windows Central received an official rendering that shows dark mode for the Android version of Outlook. Dark mode will be applied to the calendar, search, and also the email screen.
Even though it uses dark mode, the Outlook application will retain blue accents throughout the UI. That way, Outlook will not lose its trademark.
The decision to make Dark Mode for Outlook
The dark mode feature in Outlook can be activated via the quick access button found on the hamburger menu. Interestingly, users will also be offered the option to activate dark mode automatically when the battery is running low.
Unfortunately, Microsoft still hasn’t said when it will start launching the dark mode feature for all users. But, before launching too many users the feature is likely to be opened to Insider first.
The use of dark mode basically brings several benefits to users. Not only friendly to the eye, but dark mode can also save the durability of devices with AMOLED screens.
