Google Images Redesigned: New Face
Google has just updated their Image Search tab with a new interface. Thanks to the new design, users can easily compare images that they’ve chosen with other available search results.
According to Slash Gear, on Wednesday (07/08/2019), a new design has been introduced on Google Images website on desktop. The main change in this design is the large side panel that stays in place as the user tracks the rest of the results.
Google Images Redesigned for Functionality and Seamless Experience
The side panel shows images, the home page, and other Google Images features, including share buttons, bookmarks, and collections. Users can scroll down the side panel freely.
In addition, the side panel also includes useful information such as the brand and price for the product displayed in the selected image. If relevant, the product listing in the Google Image side panel also shows reviews from other people who have purchased the product.
The overall experience is seamless, requiring fewer clicks for more information while maintaining or allowing users to continue searching for original image search results.
Google shows that the new design is also better for publishers and retailers. Users can easily click to go to the site where the image is located.
The new design began launching today and is available for users who access Google Images on the desktop. Try it out now!
