Google is testing a new feature on Google Maps services.
It has the ability to provide information to users if the taxi driver on board tries to scam the route.
As reported by BGR, Tuesday (11/6), it was admitted that some taxi drivers were just naughty by extending travel routes to take profit of the higher metered rates. This is, of course, damaging to the passengers.
Therefore, Google is developing a solution. This is very helpful for taxi passengers who do not know their destination area.
Users simply enter the address they want to go to, then select the ‘stay safer’ menu at the bottom right, then ‘get off-route alert’.
The new feature on Google Maps will work by giving a warning when the taxi driver is outside the normal route as far as 500 meters.
Thus, passengers can monitor the naughty driver. So the taxi driver no longer can arbitrarily confuse their passengers.
Currently, this new feature on Google Maps has been tried on the Indian market. And it still unknown when this feature spread to the other countries.
