YouTube is now planning to end the children targeting ad. As Bloomberg reports, they want to focus on the videos that children are likely to watch.
That’s because the Federal Trade Commission is checking whether YouTube breaks the Children’s Online Privacy Act (COPPA). This platform is reluctant to comment related to the news.
This platform itself has long announced that its content is not intended for children. If children want to enjoy the service, Youtube Kids can be a choice.
Removing ads that targeting children on this video app will reach the Google region. Yet, the solution is thought to be cheaper than having to take other solutions.
Currently, Youtube only has 2 different types of video ads.
The first type is enough to pair the context of the video with a commercial message. While other types use a variety of digital signals. So, ad marketers can reach demographic markets that are based on the Google search engine results.
Until now, it was still unclear when they would ban this targeting.
