Vivo V15 is officially brought to Indonesia. Vivo also supports several main features on the smartphone, one of them is motorized pop-up technology on camera module on the front. With this mechanism, the Vivo V15 front camera can be hidden when it is not needed and will reappear if the user wants to take selfies.
“Vivo V15 is the first mobile phone with a 32 megapixel (MP) pop-up selfie camera in Indonesia,” said Yoga Samiaji, Senior Product Manager of Vivo Indonesia, when met at the launch of Vivo V15 event in Purwakarta, West Java, Tuesday (5/3/2019).
The time needed to bring up the camera from the closed position is claimed to be very quick, which is only 0.46 seconds. This camera is also equipped with AI features to beautify the shots automatically, for example AI Face Beauty is updated so that it can now recognize facial contours.
There is also the AI Portrait Lighting feature, where AI will simulate portrait mode or bokeh effect lighting, although Vivo V15 does not have a depth sensor camera
Extreme temperature resistance
Vivo first introduced camera pop-up technology on a smartphone prototype at the MWC 2018 event. A few months later, the second generation of pop-up camera technology appeared on Vivo Nex. Vivo V15 uses the third generation of pop-up camera technology made by the manufacturer.
The third generation pop-up camera module on the Vivo V15 is also protected with a metal plate, so mobile selfie cameras can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from minus 10 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.
“We protect the system’s pop-up camera mechanism with metal plates, so it’s safe and very reliable,” said Yoga. In terms of durability, the Vivo V15 pop-up camera motion mechanism is claimed to be strong to withstand loads up to 15 kg and capable of up and down (opened the lid) 50,000 times. If Vivo V15 users take selfies 30 times a day, then the mechanism of this pop-up camera is expected to last up to 5 years.
