Despite having the name Genki Sushi (“genki” means happy / cheerful), it shows you a logo of an angry orange round-face with red dimples. And this angry orange has opened in Indonesia on several cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Surabaya.
For those who have not paid a visit, let me tell you a bit about what fun that I have found about this restaurant.
Genki Sushi Resto with Technology
When you enter the resto, the waiter or waitress will hand you an iPad. What is it for? It’s for you to order your foods and drinks — doesn’t that sound interesting? You can have a self-service with the time to choose without having to make one of the staffs wait for you.
Not only that, you can use the iPad menu for calling the staff over, check how much is the total price, and decide when to pay off your bills. So far I have never seen any restaurants with such service, now this is fun and unique! But the fun has only just begun.
When you have tapped your order it will show you your order’s status, but the food won’t be served manually like any other restaurants out there. You will have a mini Shinkansen train stop by your table with your foods on top; when you take your foods off it then you have to press the beeping buttons under the train’s track so it will return to where the foods come.
Amusing, right? As for the drinks, everything but green tea will be served directly by the waiters or waitresses. You can make the green tea by yourself because they’ve prepared the powder and spoons on your table. Just need to open the little tap for hot water right beside your table near the train’s track and voila!
So what are you waiting for? Try and find out the fun in this Sushi Resto! You can also watch the video above to see where Genki Sushi has spread out in the world.
