Now, ordinary users can access AR navigation.
Because this AR navigation feature has been launched to Android and iOS in beta form so that non-Pixel users can use it.
The Verge reported the feature can work for Android devices that support ARCore and iPhone with ARKit that can access the Live View feature.
Citing Ars Technica, Friday (09/08/2019), Google named its AR navigation as Live View. And, features are designed to help users start navigation while walking.
To access Live View on Google Maps, you must type the destination in the map application, get directions, and set the transportation mode to walking. Now, near the bottom of the screen, you will see an option to start a Live View.
According to Google quoted from Gizmodo, the feature can work by analyzing nearby buildings to find out where you are. This analysis is based on Street View data for many years so that mobile phones can really make estimates about your location and where you need to go.
The new Live View is part of a larger update for Google’s mapping service. The search engine giant wants Travel and Maps to be where you plan your trip from start to finish. Therefore, Google adds features to help travelers plan their trips.
