Google Server’s Error?
Google‘s busy server in the eastern United States (US) had caused disruption to Snapchat and Youtube users on Sunday (3/6) local time. Complaints come from the social media users who cannot access both the site and the application.
Google acknowledged this problem, writing in a statement on its Cloud Platform status page that they were dealing with a high level of network congestion in the eastern US. This condition, according to them, affects many services in Google Cloud, G Suite, and YouTube.
“Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors,” explained Google, as quoted by AFP on Monday (3/6).
They added that the engineers had completed the first of two steps to restore normal operation. Earlier that day, social media users complained of the difficulty of loading many popular websites and applications.
“Google, YouTube, Snapchat, Shopify, are all down. Is the internet interrupted?” asked one of the Twitter posts.
Google’s Snapchat and YouTube both recognize server problems on their Twitter account.
Google Server and Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is one of Google’s most profitable services, but faces intense competition from other technology companies such as Amazon and Microsoft. In March, the world’s largest social network, Facebook, blamed “server configuration changes” for massive outages affecting its applications around the world. This outage affected users for at least 12 hours in most parts of the world, with the biggest impact in North America and Europe, said a tracking website at the time.
