Google is working on a smartphone gaming certification or game device certification. This certificate is planned to be given to Android devices which are gaming smartphones.
Google will issue some specific certification for the gaming smartphone
A gaming smartphone is indeed a device whose presence is dedicated to playing mobile games.
This device is specialized for playing games because it is equipped with special solutions such as a cooling system, dorsal control like on consoles, additional joypads, and other accessories.
After debuting only in the premium smartphone segment, it seems that the gadget maker wants to bring a middle-class gaming smartphone. This is not spared from solutions made by Qualcomm and MediaTek chipsets.
Now, to ensure that users get a game device that is capable of having the best performance, Google has prepared a special certificate program for gaming devices.
Citing the Tech Lapse page, Wednesday (09/10/2019), the program from Google is called Game Device Certification.
This certificate exists to ensure that gaming smartphones released by smartphone vendors have guaranteed performance.
This certificate also ensures that the device does not experience a sudden decrease in performance and other damage when used in playing games.
For your information, to get this certificate, smartphone gaming products must obtain Vulkan 1.1 API support, pass the Khronos latest Open GL ES / Vulkan test, and meet a number of other requirements.
For information, the application must also be able to allocate at least 2.3GB of system memory.
At the moment the game device certificate program by Google hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the company is preparing a team tasked with communicating with smartphone manufacturers to comply with the requirements needed to play the game.
In the same document, new requirements emerge that must be fulfilled by the smartphone manufacturer to get a GMS license.
The new devices that need to install two solutions include Digital Well-being and Parental Control systems.
Requirements that must be met by all devices are smartphones that must use OS Android 9 and Android 10.
Devices must also always get an OS update, starting September 3, 2019, when Android 10 is announced
