The new 5G era has just begun and hasn’t even been spread evenly throughout the world. The (arguably) pioneer of 5G, Huawei is eager for the headstart to become the pioneer of 6G.
As quoted from Gizmo China, Monday (09/30/2019), Huawei has begun research on 6G. The preparation of the 6G network was reportedly confirmed by the CEO and founder of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei.
According to the official translation of his Mandarin commentary, Huawei is working on the 5G and 6G technology simultaneously. However, the development of Huawei 6G is still in its initial phase and there are still some ways to go before it is commercially available.
As mentioned earlier, 5G is currently considered the next generation of telecommunications. The promised data rate bandwidth will serve as supporting technology for driverless cars and critical control of remote devices, such as heavy equipment.
Until now, the adoption of 5G has been limited to several countries such as the United Kingdom and South Korea. While China is expected to implement it soon.
Huawei 6G Tech: What for?
Huawei’s senior states before 6G become a reality, the industry needs to set standards that can take years to form. In addition, it is still unclear what the uses and applications of this technology will be.
With that, Huawei is currently concentrating its resources and efforts in 5G and it might take a long time before hearing the mentions of 6G from the company again.
