Line announces Life on Line
Line announces the company’s new vision, “Life on Line”, at its 2019 Line Conference annual event at Maihama Amphitheater, Tokyo, Japan.
Through this new vision, Line aims to become a “living infrastructure” with various innovations to support all needs.
Co-CEO and Chief WOW Officer (CWO) Line Corporation, Jungho Shin, improving people’s lifestyles and daily lives through technology is the focus of the company.
The company is no longer just a short message service provider.
Line’s Three Strategies
For this new vision, Line has three strategies in various aspects of life that include Offline, Fintech (Financial Technology), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Line will focus on these three things to realize its mission into real life.
“We will bring true innovation. This innovation has many things, but what we want to focus on is how to improve the lifestyle and daily lives of many people,” Shin said in his presentation at Maihama Theater, Tokyo, Japan, Wednesday (27 / 6/2019).
“We pursue something that really has an impact on everyday life, so that it can provide change for life and society.”

Line’s Offline Strategy
For strategies in the Offline area, according to Shin, Line will present a variety of services in order to truly connect online to offline (O2O).
The company also presents the concept of Online Merges with Offline (OMO) by making the Line application as a liaison between business people and consumers.
“OMO is our strategy to create a universe. Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) will benefit from this OMO concept,” Shin said.
Through this OMO concept, Line presents a Line Mini application that is a service that can help companies and retailers to create their own pages in the Line application.
There are various features needed in it such as payment, point card, GPS, coupons, maps, e-commerce, menus, and member cards.
The soft launch of the Line Mini application is planned for the fall of 2019. While the full launch is in the spring of 2020.
