Several scientists who are involved from Indonesia stated that the project is still in progress around 20-30% of what it would be. This project is held in Japan under Professor Pitoyo’s watch.
Pitoyo is a Japanese Artificial Neural Network from the Department of Mechanics and Information, Chukyo University (Japan).
If you don’t know what Gundam is, it is a mecha robot that appeared on TV animation in Japan by the year of 1979. Because the original height for Gundam is 18 meters (approximately 59 feet), a man from Surabaya (Indonesia) along with Shuji Hashimoto, a professor of Applied Physics from Waseda University, wanted to make it real.

Hashimoto as the team’s leader, is responsible on this Gundam project and to be able to make it move. Because of the two, now people can see a real life Gundam in the size 1000 way bigger than normal human alive soon.
The team also included Yoshiyuki Tomino (Anime Director), Katsuyuki Motohiro (Film Producer), and Seiichi Saito (Creative Technical Director).
They think of this as a big challenge to work on, the aim of this project isn’t about money nor business regarding the model. It’s all so that they can show and promote Japan’s technologies and their sub-power with anything else that can come.
Besides that, Pitoyo and Hashimoto wanted to accept the challenge for turning science fiction into science and reality. Because of this they will need to involve various of knowledge field from technicals to art elements.
Where its started.
All of this started when Gundam Global Challenge was up, to see who are able to make a giant Gundam in reality and to make it possibly move.
Hearing this project may seem quite ambitious, but as you know, the team has made two Gundam statues before namely RX-78-2 and Unicorn with the same size of the current project.
The project that they are working now is a part of Gundam’s 40th anniversary, to make it special they implant the idea of try to make it move. There has never been a robot this big enable to move, Pitoyo said that they have been rejected by a lot of companies before because there were no motors within it.
