Sigma: Enter The New Character!
Overwatch fans get ready to hype, a new playable hero is coming to the roster. Blizzard has revealed a new hero named Sigma to join the ranks of Overwatch.
Sigma is an eccentric astrophysicist and volatile tank who gained the power to control gravity in an orbital experiment gone wrong. Manipulated by Talon and deployed as a living weapon, Sigma’s presence on the battlefield cannot be ignored.Official description
Launching The Verge on Thursday (07/25/2019), Blizzard is now fully launching Sigma through the first live-look on Twitch. The new character certainly seems to have a dark background story, as evident in his Origin trailer.
Sigma abilities reveal
According to the official profile
Hyperspheres manipulation: Sigma wields two gravitic charges that can bounce and implode after a short duration. The Hyperspheres will deals AoE damage. He can also choose to fling a mass of debris to knock the enemy offbalance and make the perfect chance to strike.
Experimental Barrier: Sigma can propels a floating barrier to a location of his choosing. This barrier is a multifunctional, flexible skill as he can dismiss the barrier freely at any time. He can also defend using the kinetic grasp to freeze ranged attack, which he can convert to shields.
“Gravity is harness. I have harnessed the harness.” Sigma said in the game trailer.
His ultimate move is the Gravitic Flux where he flies while lifting the surrounding enemies in the area of effect, and slamming everyone to the ground.
So far there is no information about when the character will be released. But currently Sigma is available on PTR/Public Test Region (for PC only) now.
Blizzard has continued to introduce new characters in the game since its release. With the release of Sigma to the game, it means that Overwatch now has a total of 31 characters.
