Spotify launched a new playlist called “Your Daily Drive” which will include news podcasts as The Verge report said on Wednesday.
It allows users in the United States to listen to the music they like along with new music recommendations with a number of news services, which users can enjoy in their vehicles.
A number of media such as The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and Public Radio International will provide news audio clips in Spotify’s latest features.
News and music will continue to be updated at any time of day if the user plays “Your Daily Drive” which distinguishes it from other music player platforms.
The new service is also different from the “Discover Weekly” playlist that only updates music every week, or “Your Daily Mix” which updates music every day.
The new playlist complements the five lists of this app’s promotional podcasts curated by human touch.
Spotify’s Automotive Ambition
The new feature is present a month after it launched a hardware project called Car Thing. The project aims to collect data on how people enjoy songs in their cars.
Spotify’s ambition regarding automotive audio increasingly brought the company founded by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon as radio, except for weather and traffic information.
