Upload GIFs to instagram
GIF is one of the popular formats supported by various social media platforms. Sadly, not in Instagram as this photo sharing service does not offer native GIF support.
So, uploading GIFs to Instagram won’t be as easy as other social media. But, don’t worry there is a solution to do this, with the condition that you need to convert the GIF to a video file or create a Story first.
After changing the GIF to the video file, then you can upload it to Instagram. Here are the steps on how to do it, as summarized from Digital Trends, Sunday (11/08/2019).
Two Easy Ways to Upload GIFs to Instagram
Adding GIFs to Posts Using Giphy
Giphy is a popular search engine for GIF. The nice thing about Giphy is that in addition to its powerful library, the application also allows you to quickly send your GIF to various social networks and automate the process of video conversion for Instagram.
After finding a suitable GIF in the application, tap the image and then the Share icon, which resembles a paper airplane. Then, tap the Instagram purple icon on the resulting page to open the photo sharing application on your mobile device.
From there, you will be given the option to add a GIF to the Story or Feed. Select Feed and add a description if desired. Apart from that, there are many other GIF-related applications and websites that you can use to upload GIFs to Instagram such as Tenor and ImgPlay.
Add GIFs to Instagram using Story, then to Feed
Instagram supports GIF stickers in Story. To do this, tap the smiley face icon when using the camera and select GIF, which will take you to the database.
From there, you can browse trending stickers or search for specific GIFs using keywords. After you find what you want, tap the sticker.
You can adjust the position of the sticker. In fact, you can also set how large or small GIF stickers that you’ve selected. Add as much as you want, then tap Story.
When saving images with a GIF uploaded to Story, you can also upload them to Feed. But, this is a little complicated. GIF duration must be more than three seconds before looping. Otherwise, you will get a notification that you cannot upload the image to your feed because the video is not long enough.
